The M1 Active MK3 studio monitor is a stunning new 5-inch aluminum woofer, which is lighter and more rigid than standard carbon-fiber, paper, or glass-Aramid woofers. This woofer gives the MK3 an even faster transient attack and a more linear response through the bass and midrange. Furthermore, a waveguide with a precise design offers high-frequency dispersion in a well-managed, predictable pattern. This guarantees a wider listening "sweet zone," even far to the side ("off axis") of the speaker, and prevents random sound dispersing. The flared front-firing bass ports reduce distracting port turbulence from the speaker's bass output, and the smoothly radiused "aerodynamic" cabinet edge prevents objectionably audible artifacts from edge diffraction.
