ABS plastic makes up practically the whole Hive Series. The laminated wood top of the ukulele and the metal tuners are the only components that are not made of plastic. The strings are also made of metal. Since they are primarily made of plastic, they are lightweight, durable, and simple to clean, making them ideal for kids.
